| how to get one foot in the music industry |

The best way to get in the music industry is to call up every record label and ask for any type of job (you'll usually start by mopping floors and going out to get peoples food at lunch) and when you find a record company that will give a job talk to one of the music producers there and have him teach you on his free time (because they love music just like you, and love teaching others) and they'll show how to work equipment and this slowly develops a relationship with this producer, so you'll eventually get a shot. But you have to have a good since of rhythm, most kids think being a producer or a rapper is simple, theres an art to it and most people are either born with it or not. You also got to have a true love for music and nothing less, music has to be your life and the only thing you care about to make in this industry, cause theres millions trying to make it. If your a rapper I suggest going to websites like www.tharow.com and www.djjam.com cause there always interested in demo tapes and they have addresses to where you cans send your demo tapes, but you have to be able to handle rejection, if you cant handle being rejection your not going to make in this buisness because rejection is something that i've heard everyday in this industry, some people cry, some people give up, and some people use it as motivation, which one are you? I've been fortunate to work with highly skilled producers (jimmy jam & terry lewis, teddy riley, babyface,ect.) which is more on the R&B side of things but in the hip hop industry I've had the pleasure of working with Tomica Wright (president & owner of Ruthless Records), Ant Banks, Marley Marl and I learned a lot from them so you need to get yourself out there, send demos, call up, visit each label, or whatever, you just need to get yourself out there.
